It is important to note that beginning in 313 A.D., Christian teachings and practices began to dramatically change. Prior to 313 A.D. the Christian attitudes and practices listed above were standards advocated by most Christians within their own Christian communities. Christians did not attempt to force those attitudes or practices on non-Christians. Christians did feel free to include them as part of the gospel, the Good News, they preached to non-Christians -- not as a judgmental rebuke but as joyful witness to the freedom of their own life in Christ.

Here is a thought

If He, being the King of Kings, walked into the room, would He know your or my name? Or would you or I just be another face in the crowd? Just a thought for thinking.

The one whom my soul loves

these are just some random thoughts i had while in AHOP studying Song 3:1-2. Sometimes in order to find the one whom we love, we must be willing to leave the comfort of the familiar and seek after Him in a place of the unfamiliar. she was not only willing to leave her bed, she did it at night. it is in the dark night of our soul that we must press on in seeking after Him.
another thought is that of seeking and not finding she sought him, but did not find Him. i think God was testing to see how bad she really wanted him. i realized tonigt that im going to go, and im not waiting any longer. if someone wants to go with me, they will have to run alongside me or catch up. tell me what you all think? does this resound in your souls?

Could we be Nathanael?

John 1:43-51 The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, "Follow me." Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. Philip found Nathanael and said to him, "We have found him about whom Moses in the law and also the prophets wrote, Jesus son of Joseph from Nazareth." Nathanael said to him, "Can anything good come out of Nazareth?" Philip said to him, "Come and see." When Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him, he said of him, "Here is truly an Israelite in whom there is no deceit!" Nathanael asked him, "Where did you get to know me?" Jesus answered, "I saw you under the fig tree before Philip called you." Nathanael replied, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!" Jesus answered, "Do you believe because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than these." And he said to him, "Very truly, I tell you, you will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man."

I did not bring myself to this place...
I really am not very comfortable with the reality of Jesus...
I was perfectly content under my fig tree...
And yet he has still called me to see greater things!
